Today we were at a friends&#8217; place for a play date. The kids were really enjoying the snow!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kansala.kuvat.fi\/kuvat\/Antti\/2012-01-22%20Snow%20fun\/\">http:\/\/kansala.kuvat.fi\/kuvat\/Antti\/2012-01-22%20Snow%20fun\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>For tech geeks:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">These shots are taken with an off-camera speedlight. I was trying to balance some ambient light into the shots and really get the subjects and the flying snow to stand out with the flash. The 1\/4 CTO gel was too warm for the ambient light, maybe a 1\/4 blue would have worked better. In situations like this where the kids are constantly moving around, TTL would be a nice addition to the off-camera flash. Some shots were totally burned because of the constantly changing subject to flash distance. On the other hand maybe I should just try to learn to adjust the aperture according to the subject movement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week we got enough snow to start the winter for real.
